Fulpati sent for Kathmandu from Gorkha

As part of the centuries-old tradition, the fulpati procession on Saturday left the Gorkha’s Dashain Ghar at 8 am with ritualistic offerings and homage for Kathmandu’s Hanumandhoka Durbar.

The fulpati, an assortment of flowers, leaves and plants, was sent for Hanumandhoka.

The fulpati will be received at the Hanumandhoka Durbar and given access inside amidst a ceremony this evening.

The tradition’s provenance dates more than two centuries back when Gorkha’s King Prithvi Narayan Shah commenced his royal proceedings from Hanumandhoka Durbar following the conquest of Kantipur.
